Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa) has entered into a strategic partnership with Resourcing Tomorrow / Mines and Money London 2025, a move that is expected to strengthen the visibility of African women on the global mining stage. The international conference is scheduled to hold in London from December 2 to 4, 2025.

The organisation, which has continued to champion gender equity across the mineral value chain, confirmed that under the arrangement, complimentary full-access passes have been secured for female leaders working in mid-tier and major mining companies with a market capitalisation of more than $500 million. Passes will also be extended to WiM-Africa’s active volunteers and staff.

Executive Director of WiM-Africa, Dr. Comfort Asokoro-Ogaji, said the initiative was about more than representation at a global conference. “We are ensuring that African women in mining have a seat at the table where decisions on investment, sustainability, and innovation are being shaped for the future of our sector,” she said.

WiM-Africa explained that eligible nominees must occupy decision-making positions in mining or energy companies and influence areas such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, procurement, technology, human resources, legal affairs, government relations, or sustainability. Nominations remain open until September 15, 2025, and will be reviewed by the event organisers.

As part of the engagement, WiM-Africa will also host a high-level side event during London Mining Week, where African women leaders, investors, policymakers, and global partners will meet to showcase innovations and forge partnerships for inclusive growth.

The group further called on industry stakeholders to support nominations and explore sponsorship opportunities that would guarantee strong African representation at the December event.
