Nigerian Entrepreneur Transforms AgricBusiness with Game-Changing Soybean Oil Processing Model
In Nigeria’s rapidly evolving agribusiness sector, a visionary entrepreneur Ibiyemi A Bello, founder of Omoboja Farms Nigeria Ltd, is breaking boundaries by fusing strategic leadership, human resource expertise, and cutting-edge technology to redefine soybean oil production.
As both a Business Development and Human Resource Consultant, Ibiyemi A Bello has built a track record of analysing market trends, developing strategic plans, and launching ventures that make tangible community impact. His most notable project so far a 60-ton-per-day modular soybean oil press is transforming the food production value chain.
Traditional soybean oil extraction in Nigeria has long faced challenges such as low yields, high energy use, and inconsistent product quality. By introducing automation, digital monitoring systems, and enzyme-assisted extraction (EAE), the facility now delivers 10–15% higher yields, lower energy consumption, and consistent quality oil that meets export standards.
Beyond technology, Ibiyemi A Bello implemented business process management strategies mapping workflows, introducing KPIs, digitising approvals, and adopting a Kaizen approach to continuous improvement. This has reduced downtime by 25%, cut labour costs, and created scalable systems for future expansion.
His innovations have also driven community development. Partnering with smallholder soybean farmers through fair contract farming, he provides certified seeds, training, and guaranteed prices, boosting farmers’ income and product quality. He has created jobs for rural youth and women, donated fortified soybean oil to schools and clinics, and run nutrition education campaigns with NGOs.
Speaking on his leadership philosophy, Ibiyemi A Bello said: “No solution is sustainable if it ignores local realities.” He explained that deep local understanding, collaborative partnerships, and balancing technology with people-first leadership have been critical to his success.
Overcoming resistance to change, resource constraints, and integration challenges, he relies on phased implementation, inclusive communication, lean innovation, and strong follow-through. His advice to young leaders: think big, start small, act fast, and measure success in both profitability and social impact.
For him, innovation is not just about machinery it’s about movement. As he puts it, “Technology is the enabler; people are the reason.”
With purpose-driven leadership and a commitment to sustainability, this Nigerian entrepreneur is proving that the country’s agricultural sector can achieve world-class efficiency while uplifting communities along the way.
