BOND Awards 2025: Spotlighting the Silent Builders of Change Across Borders
By Ugo aliogo
Set to return on September 12 this year in Mississauga, Ontario, the BOND Awards is a space intentionally created to spotlight Nigerians in the diaspora who are making an impact worth remembering.
They are a tribute to the journeys that rarely make headlines but are changing lives, communities, and industries behind the scenes.
Founded by Mrs. Modupe Ehinlaiye, a lawyer, media host, and champion of diaspora leadership, the BOND Awards exists to say what many have waited to hear: “We see you. We honour you. You belong here.
“We don’t just reward excellence,” says Ehinlaiye. “We celebrate the stories behind the success the sacrifices, the grit, the faith, and the integrity it took to get there.”This year’s edition introduces new award categories and promises powerful moments that elevate voices from across law, media, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and the arts.
Every detail of the experience reflects the BOND brand: thoughtful, uplifting, rooted in purpose, and unapologetically Nigerian.
Ehinlaiye’s career spans across the banking industry in Lagos, law and immigration adjudication in Canada, and media influence across continents.
She is described as one who knows what it means to carry multiple identities and still lead with clarity.
She is the host of Talk with Mo, convener of the Extraordinary Women Summit, and founder of the BOND Awards. Whether through media, law, or leadership development, her mission is consistent: to create spaces where purpose meets power and where voices that once felt invisible now take centre stage.
