Nigeria Tackles Poor Power Quality at Electric Power Quality Conference
Mary Nnah
The Electric Power Quality Conference 2025 has marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s industrial landscape, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to confront one of the most persistent challenges facing industrial and commercial sectors: poor power quality.
Held at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel in Lagos recently, with the theme, “Maximizing industrial electronic investment through high-performance protection system”, the conference was a powerful showcase of cutting-edge technological solutions designed to mitigate the costly impact of bad power on sensitive electronic and industrial equipment.
With a focus on practical applications, proven technologies, and revenue-enhancing strategies, the event marked a turning point in how businesses in Nigeria and beyond address voltage instability, surges, harmonics, and other power anomalies.
At the heart of the event were presentations by notable figures in the power industry: Mr. Tim Chima, Managing Director of Asprinox Power; Mr. Nam Paik, Director of Sales TSiPower USA; Mr. Jim Rosser, Managing Director, Energy Control Systems Africa and Mr. John Mitchell, Global Sales Director, CP Automation United Kingdom. Their insights illuminated the unique strengths of their respective solutions and underscored their companies’ growing footprint in the $34 billion global power quality industry.
The facilitators, elaborated on the advanced design of their hi-tech power conditioners and instrumentation tools, which are tailored to transform bad power into usable energy.
Chima, in his keynote, emphasised the growing importance of high-performance power conditioning systems in driving industrial productivity. He demonstrated how Asprinox Power is not only diagnosing power problems but also providing turnkey solutions that ensure long-term stability and equipment protection.
“We are not just protecting machines. We are preserving investments and enabling companies to unlock new revenue potentials”, he said.
The conference also featured live demonstrations of power quality instrumentation, giving attendees hands-on exposure to tools that are shaping the future of industrial energy management. A central topic was the global approach to success in power quality management, with panel discussions focusing on international best practices and their applicability in the African energy landscape.
With top-tier solutions from TSiPower and Energy Control Systems taking center stage, attendees left with a clearer understanding of how the right technologies can convert vulnerabilities into opportunities. The technical differentiators and cost-saving outcomes of these innovations were backed by compelling case studies and data from industries already experiencing tangible benefits.
In an environment where power irregularities continue to threaten operations, the Nigerian Power Quality Conference 2025 successfully positioned itself as a beacon of practical hope and innovation. As industries strive for efficiency and resilience, the technologies spotlighted at this conference promise not only protection but profitability.
