Abuja’s real estate scene witnessed a refreshing shift as Edin & People Limited, one of the city’s most trusted developers, hosted the maiden edition of LAFF PER SQUARE METERS 1.0 an innovative event that merged real estate education with top-tier comedy and investor networking.

Held at the iconic Transcorp Hilton, the event drew real estate stakeholders, high-net-worth investors, affiliates, and young professionals for a unique experience that combined insight with entertainment. Hosted by popular comedian Sarkin Dariya and corporate MC Alinonu Chibuzor, the gathering stood out for its energy, candour, and engaging delivery.

In his welcome remarks, the MD/CEO of Edin & People Ltd. and Convener of the event – Arc. Ijahenda James explained the motive behind the format. “We wanted to prove that learning about real estate doesn’t have to be boring. You can mix business with fun, educate while entertaining, and still leave with deals and partnerships that change lives,” he said.

The event featured masterclasses from industry leaders such as Dr. Hyeladi Haruna and Barr. Sam Hart. Their sessions simplified complex real estate topics, covering how to avoid fake land deals, smart sales strategies, and sustainable wealth-building through property. Their practical, relatable delivery resonated with the audience.

A panel session featuring top industry executives Arc. Ijahenda James, Engr. John Peter Zira, Mrs. Hannah Sam, Dr. Hyeladi Haruna, and Barr. Sam Hart tackled property market trends, investment risks, and the future of real estate in Nigeria. Audience members engaged directly with the panellists, making for a lively and impactful dialogue.

What truly set LAFF PER SQUARE METERS apart was its entertainment segment. Comedians including Sarkin Dariya, Sabinu, MC Nappy, MC Champion, Bob and Shortcut, and Mazi Prosper delivered hilarious takes on Nigeria’s real estate peculiarities from “ancestral land” dramas to the daily struggles of house-hunting drawing roars of laughter from guests while subtly educating them on industry realities.
