Docenti Global Business School Celebrates First Graduation Ceremony and Launches Second Cohort of Employability Skills Development Program
In a major milestone for youth skills development in Africa, Docenti Global Business School, led by its Principal Director, Associate Professor Humphrey Akanazu, has celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of its Employability Skills Development Program and officially launched the second cohort of the initiative.
The graduation ceremony, held at the Lagos Learning Hub, marked the successful completion of the school’s Corporate Foundation Program by 17 graduates. Over six months, these participants were equipped with essential workplace skills in areas such as Microsoft Excel, data management, digital marketing, communication tools, leadership, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence. The program also included career development modules such as CV writing, interview techniques, personal branding, and effective communication in business settings.
In his address at the event, Mr. Humphrey Akanazu emphasized the importance of building a skilled workforce capable of thriving in today’s complex job market.
“What we are witnessing is not just the end of a training session but the beginning of transformative careers. We are deeply committed to bridging the gap between academic qualifications and workplace readiness,” he said.
The Employability Skills Development Program is structured to help both fresh graduates and already employed professionals build practical skills that align with industry expectations. The Corporate Foundation Program offers foundational knowledge and real-world skills designed to boost participants’ employability and confidence.
The school also offers targeted programs for specific industries, such as the Data Science Diploma for analytics-driven roles and a Restaurant and Bar Program tailored to the hospitality sector.
The launch of the second cohort, which commences in August 2025, reflects growing demand for affordable, accessible, and industry-relevant training. Participants in the second batch will benefit from the same intensive instruction, hands-on projects, and certification partnership with the Skill Development Council Canada.
Docenti Global Business School continues to expand its offerings and reach, while addressing operational needs and onboarding new team members to drive awareness and enrollment for upcoming programs. With a strong focus on impact, the institution remains dedicated to helping young Africans unlock their potential and secure meaningful employment opportunities.
