According to David, “My vision for the new Rotary year is to strengthen the club’s impact on our community, expand its reach, enhance member engagement, and improve adaptability as a ‘People of Action’.”

David’s top priorities for the 2025-2026 year include community development, supporting the Rotary Foundation, youth engagement, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, membership growth, leadership development, and public image enhancement. He plans to implement various initiatives and projects, such as eradicating polio, promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water and sanitation, supporting education, and growing local economies.

In terms of community development, he wants to implement projects that address pressing community issues, such as healthcare, education, and economic development. He believes that the club can make a significant impact in these areas by working together with other organizations and stakeholders. David also plans to support the Rotary Foundation and encourage individual and club giving to support projects that align with the foundation’s goals.

David is passionate about youth engagement and plans to develop and empower the next generation through Rotary’s youth programs, mentorship, education, literacy, and skill development. He believes that young people are the future leaders of the community and that it is essential to invest in their development. David also plans to promote peace and conflict resolution within and outside the community by implementing peace-building programs, conflict resolution training, and initiatives that foster understanding and cooperation among different groups.

Membership growth is another key priority for him. He wants to increase membership, develop, engage, and retain members by providing value, fostering a strong sense of community, and offering engaging experiences. David believes that a strong and engaged membership is essential to the club’s success and plans to implement strategies to attract and retain members.

David anticipates challenges related to fundraising, membership engagement and retention, community impact, and project sustainability. To address these challenges, he plans to focus on impactful collaboration, seek partnerships with other clubs, organizations, and NGOs, appreciate members, encourage open communication and teamwork, and develop strategic partnerships and fundraising initiatives.

The Rotary Club of Akowonjo is also set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in February 2026. David invites everyone to join in the celebrations, which promise to be a wonderful occasion. David is committed to listening to members’ ideas and concerns and to making sure that everyone has a voice in the club’s decision-making process.
