Group drums support for Oyebanji ‘s re-election

A group, Progress Mandate (PM), has endorsed Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) of Ekiti State for a second term, declaring that he has performed admirably well and deserves re-election. PM also said Oyebanji’s inductive and inclusive style of governance which has taken care of all parties, especially the grassroots, intimidates the opposition that now campaigns against his re-election not because the governor hasn’t performed.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti at the weekend, and signed the group’s Director General, Yomi Oso, PM says:
“Governor Oyebanji’s administration has redefined leadership in Ekiti through a quiet revolution rooted in substance over sensation. Unlike the traditional, flamboyant approach to governance, His Excellency has adopted a uniquely inductive style, one that begins at the grassroots, examines the peculiarities of each local issue, and develops policy from the bottom up.

This inductive, consultative, and evidence-based model of governance is unfamiliar terrain to many in the opposition, who are more used to blanket promises, political showmanship, and top-down decision-making. Hence, their confusion and criticism stem not from the absence of results, but from the unfamiliarity of real reform.”

The group lauded Gov. Oyebanji for quietly and firmly blocking several conduit pipes for corruption in the state and promoting transparency and accountability. They admired greatly Oyebanji’s keen attention to the welfare of the people, citing his injection of a whooping sum of N7.58 billion into payments of gratuities of pensioners as shining example.

Reeling out several achievements of the governor in virtually all areas of infrastructures, education, youth empowerment, job creation, and promotion of unity among others, to substantiate reasons for his re-election, PM says:
“Roads once considered death traps have received facelifts. Rural-urban connectivity has improved significantly. Communities long forgotten now feel the pulse of governance. A few flagship projects include: rehabilitation of Ado–Iworoko–Ifaki road, construction of G.R.A 3rd Extension and G.R.A to Pavilion Junction road, rehabilitation of Moferere–Agric Olope–Odo Ado Road, construction of Obisesan road, Oke Ala Basiri, Ado-Ekiti, rehabilitation of Hospital Management Board road, reconstruction of Ikere–Ilawe road, rehabilitation of Ilawe–Erijiyan and Ilawe–Igede roads, reconstruction of Igbara–Odo–Ikogosi road, construction of Ikole–Ara–Isinbode road, construction of Ekiti Ring road, rehabilitation of Itapa–Ijelu–Omuo road, reconstruction of Iloro–Ijurin–Temidire–Ayegunle road, rehabilitation of Ikere–Ise–Emure road, ongoing Flyover Bridge from Ajilosun (Union Bank) to Okeyinmi (First Bank)

Writing further on other achievements, PM asserts that: “The turnaround in basic education is evident. Investment in school infrastructure, teacher recruitment, and innovation in curriculum delivery is creating a pipeline of future leaders.

“Through targeted programs like the Youth Digital Skills Initiative, the administration has empowered thousands with skills to thrive in the 21st-century economy. Primary healthcare has witnessed systemic improvements in personnel motivation, medical equipment upgrades, and accessible community health insurance schemes.

” With renewed focus on mechanization, extension services, and partnerships with private investors, Ekiti’s agricultural potential is being harnessed for economic sustainability. A new era of dignity, meritocracy, and motivation is unfolding in the civil service, restoring pride to the engine room of governance.

” We must commend Governor Oyebanji for the remarkable way he has united political, traditional, and community leaders across the State. Through humility and inclusive leadership, he has brought lasting peace and tranquillity to a once-divided political landscape. Today, Ekiti is speaking with one voice, and that is a legacy worth preserving.

” The Progress Mandate does not give blind endorsements. We are an advocacy platform driven by verifiable data, integrity, and public interest. Our support for Governor Oyebanji is informed by:
His practical understanding of Ekiti’s challenges and tailored solutions. His humility in leadership, approachability, and consistency. His zero tolerance for corruption and demonstrable financial reforms. His inclusive governance style, which gives voice to all segments of society: youth, women, elders, traditional institutions, and professional bodies.
In these qualities, we find a rare patriot whose style may be quiet but whose impact roars across every corner of Ekiti.”
