The Commissioner representing the Judiciary at the Police Service Commission (PSC), Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (rtd), yesterday, lamented that his wife, Mrs. Zeporah Galumje, had left him at the age and time he needed her the most.
A statement by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said the wife had passed away on 4th June 2025.
In an emotion-laden voice, the retired Justice of the apex court stressed, “At my age, I needed her, but she is no longer with me; however, I will remain alone until it is time for God to call me home.”
Speaking at the wake-keeping of his wife in Jalingo yesterday, Galumje bemoaned the fate that had befallen him.
He said, “My wife created peace in my life and in my house, but she has gone and will never come back to me. I am, however, strong, and it is coming from the Almighty God.”
In a tribute at the Wake Keep, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), said the Commission stands with Justice Galumje during this time of grief.
Argungu, who was represented by the Head of Press and Public Relations of the Commission, Mr. Ani, said the late wife of Justice Galumje was a woman of dignity, compassion, and unwavering support for her family.
Argungu described her as a source of encouragement and stability to her husband throughout his distinguished career in the judiciary.
“In her quiet way, she contributed immensely to the peace and harmony that made it possible for Justice Galumje to serve the nation with such commitment and honour. She was a great woman whose sacrifices, although silent, were deeply significant.
“We are gathered here to honour the memory and celebrate the life of a woman who meant so much to her family, her community, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. We mourn with you in this moment of profound loss; we know that no words can fully express the pain of losing a life partner, a confidant, and a pillar of strength.
“At this time, we pray for comfort and strength for the family—Justice Galumje, the children, grandchildren, and all loved ones. May God, in His infinite mercy, grant her eternal rest and reward her with paradise.”
The remains of the late Mrs. Zeporah Galumje will be committed to mother earth today, June 21, 2025, at her husband’s village, Didan, in Taraba State.
