Dahua Technology, a global leader in video-centric AIoT solutions and services, on Saturday hosted a high-impact seminar in Lagos where it showcased its latest technological innovations designed to drive sustainable urban development across key sectors in Nigeria.

Themed “Driving Innovation to an AIoT Future,” the event featured a comprehensive display of Dahua’s advanced solutions tailored for the oil and gas, banking, and real estate industries—sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic growth and urban transformation.

In his keynote address, Mr. Jeremy Xiao, managing director of Dahua Technology Nigeria, emphasised Dahua’s growing footprint in the Nigerian security market.

He described how the company is revolutionising the sector through Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), enabling smarter, data-driven security operations capable of tackling rising insecurity across the country.

“AIoT is not just the future—it is now. At Dahua, we are creating security systems that go beyond monitoring to intelligent analysis, predictive response, and ultimately, peace of mind,” Xiao said.

A major highlight of the seminar was the launch of WizColor 2025, Dahua’s newest innovation in surveillance technology. Designed to deliver crisp, full-color imagery even in low-light or remote locations, the WizColor series boasts reduced false alarm rates and streamlined installation, making it a game-changer for infrastructure-challenged environments.

Fasesin Mathew, regional marketing specialist, described the event as a success and a key opportunity to enlighten people about the company’s latest technological advancements.

“WizColor 2025 ensures that even in complete darkness, users get high-definition, intelligent surveillance. It’s the future of night-time security,” Mathew added.

Abudulsalam Abdul Rasheed, Nigeria Channel Sales Manager, highlighted the balance Dahua has struck between cutting-edge innovation and affordability, noting that its products are tailored to meet Nigeria’s unique developmental and security needs.

During panel sessions, Sodiq Opaleye and Ben Fubara, both AIoT senior solutions engineers, explored how smart technology is transforming traditional security. Opaleye illustrated how the banking sector, often burdened with high operational costs for physical security, is now adopting Dahua’s advanced AI algorithms to convert surveillance footage into structured data that can instantly recognize and verify identities.

“With AIoT, security cameras don’t just watch—they understand. They detect, analyze, and react, reducing the need for manpower and boosting accuracy,” Opaleye explained.

Dahua reaffirmed its commitment to continued investment in Nigeria’s security tech ecosystem and expressed readiness to deepen collaborations with system integrators, resellers, and government stakeholders.

As urban areas across Nigeria face mounting security and infrastructure challenges, Dahua’s AIoT-led vision offers a promising blueprint for a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future.
