Senator Bwacha Hailed for Transformative Leadership in Taraba South
A community leader and activist in Southern Taraba, Comrade Yamujeh Usman Ba’aga, has praised Senator Dr. Emmanuel Bwacha, CON, for what he described as “a legacy of visionary leadership and lasting impact” in the Taraba South Senatorial District.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Comrade Ba’aga applauded the senator’s consistent delivery of developmental projects and grassroots empowerment programmes, which he said have significantly improved the quality of life across the region.
“Senator Bwacha has redefined what it means to represent the people. His impact is not theoretical—it is visible and deeply felt in our communities,” Ba’aga said. “He stands out not for rhetoric, but for real, measurable progress.”
Ba’aga outlined several achievements that underscore the senator’s proactive governance, including the extension of electricity to rural areas like Nyivo and Mararraba, and the extensive rehabilitation of the long-abandoned Donga–Mararraba road.
“In places where people had resigned to darkness and neglect, Senator Bwacha introduced light and life. His projects have revived hope in many communities,” he added.
He also noted critical strides in education and digital literacy, citing the equipping of science laboratories at the Federal University, Wukari, and the establishment of ICT centres. According to Ba’aga, over 260 underprivileged students have benefitted from the senator’s scholarship scheme.
Youth development, he said, has remained a focal point of Bwacha’s efforts—with over 500 federal job placements secured and more than 750 young people empowered through vocational training programmes run under the National Directorate of Employment.
“In an era where young people are often sidelined, Senator Bwacha has deliberately included them in his development plans,” Ba’aga noted.
He further highlighted the senator’s contributions to security and infrastructure, such as the creation of new police divisions in Donga and Mararraba, the installation of solar streetlights in Takum and Wukari, and the donation of operational vehicles to law enforcement.
Ba’aga emphasized the positive ripple effects of these interventions on peace and stability in a region that has historically grappled with communal strife and underdevelopment.
In the health sector, he pointed to the establishment of a well-equipped primary healthcare centre in Mararraba and support for maternal and child health services as part of Bwacha’s people-centered approach.
“He has shown that leadership is about responding to the real and urgent needs of the people—from healthcare to justice, from water supply to food security,” Ba’aga said, referencing the senator’s provision of boreholes, tricycles, grinding machines, and support for agricultural cooperatives.
Ba’aga also lauded the senator’s backing of the justice sector through the construction of a magistrate court and the provision of logistics support for rural mobility and legal access.
Calling on future political leaders to learn from Senator Bwacha’s model, Ba’aga described him as “a symbol of integrity, commitment, and inclusive development.”
“At a time when many are disillusioned with politics, Senator Bwacha offers a refreshing reminder that public service can still be meaningful and impactful,” the statement concluded.
Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, a seasoned lawmaker and former Deputy Senate Minority Leader, continues to enjoy widespread recognition for his development-driven style of representation in the Taraba South Senatorial Zone.
