Abuja9800 Champions Early Fitness with New Children’s Sports Club Launch
In a vibrant display of energy, colour, and youthful enthusiasm, the Abuja9800 Sports Club today officially launched its Children’s Sports Club, marking a significant step in promoting early sports engagement, fitness, and social bonding among children in the capital city.
The launch event, held at the club’s recreation grounds, attracted a large turnout of children and wards of club members, many of whom were participating in a formal sporting activity for the first time. From aerobic drills to football kickarounds, indoor games, and team-building activities, the young attendees were treated to a wholesome blend of fun and physical development.
President of Abuja9800 Sports Club, Mr. Ini Archibong, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the club’s vision to raise a generation that understands the value of health, discipline, and unity through sports.
“Exercise is not just for adults. Children need to learn early that physical activity is a key part of healthy living. This club will provide them with a safe, structured, and exciting space to grow, learn, and build lasting friendships,” Archibong stated.
He further noted that while the children’s sports club currently caters to the children of registered members, plans are underway to open membership to the general public, enabling more families across Abuja to benefit from the initiative.
The launch is part of the club’s broader commitment to community health, youth development, and grassroots sports advocacy and has already sparked excitement among parents and sports enthusiasts alike.
Speaking at the event, several parents lauded the initiative, describing it as “a timely move” that will keep children physically active and socially engaged in a safe environment.
With Nigeria’s growing concern about sedentary lifestyles and screen addiction among young people, the Abuja9800 Children’s Sports Club stands out as a proactive and impactful initiative — one that not only promotes physical well-being but also nurtures values like teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
As the club prepares to roll out regular weekend programs, competitions, and coaching clinics, members of the public are encouraged to follow updates and registration details via Abuja9800’s official social media channels and outreach platforms.
