A new book, “Blueprints for Value Creation: A Story-Driven Guide to Innovation Mastery,” has been unveiled as a powerful educational resource for young and emerging innovators in Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem. Written by public health expert and innovation strategist Dr. Obichi Obiajunwa, the book was launched on June 12, 2025, at a celebratory event marking the author’s 40th birthday.
According to Dr. Obiajunwa, the book aims to simplify complex concepts and tools in innovation and value creation, making them accessible to young and emerging innovators, especially in Africa. “I wrote this book to simplify complex concepts and tools in innovation and value creation—so that young and emerging innovators, especially in Africa, can access, understand, and apply them with confidence,” he explained. “Innovation must be demystified if it is to become inclusive.”
The book combines theory with storytelling and real-world case studies, making it an empowering resource for readers. Reviewer Engr. Betty Ugona described the book as “a compass” that simplifies the language of innovation while elevating its purpose. “This book is more than content; it is a compass,” she noted. “It simplifies the language of innovation while elevating its purpose.”
The book covers various topics, including types of innovation, Design Thinking, TRIZ, Lean Startup method, and MVP development. Real-life examples from Nigeria and beyond are used to illustrate key concepts, making the content tangible and locally relevant. Case studies include Addis General Hospital’s response to operational constraints and Starlight Academy’s model of value-aligned education.
The book’s structure makes it adaptable for use in incubators, university programs, public service reform, and private enterprise strategy. Tools such as stakeholder mapping, value proposition design, and problem-framing canvases allow readers to take immediate action with clarity and purpose.
“Blueprints for Value Creation” is now available in print, with distribution planned through innovation hubs, academic institutions, and digital platforms. Workshops, reading groups, and fellowship integrations are expected to follow. The book is poised to equip readers with the mindset and methods to build what truly matters, addressing youth unemployment and system inefficiencies in Nigeria.
Whether you’re a young entrepreneur seeking clarity or a policymaker striving for relevance, “Blueprints for Value Creation” offers a guide and a gateway to mastering the art of purposeful innovation in Africa and beyond.
