Nigerian pharmaceutical company, Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, has opened the portal to the N1 billion Geneith Health Competition for students of secondary and tertiary institutions in Nigeria. This announcement was made during a press conference held in Abuja, with representatives of various student associations in attendance, and an offer of 200 free tickets to students who attended the official portal opening ceremony.

Although the portal will be open until December 2025, the Chairman of Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Umenwa, urged students to take advantage of the opportunity to contribute towards strengthening advocacy on the scourge of malaria, a disease that has claimed many lives and continues to impede the potential of young people across the country.

The Geneith Health Competition aims to inspire students towards innovation in anti-malaria advocacy, raise awareness about the scourge of malaria, and generate creative new ways to stop its spread across the country. The initiative, organized by CEO Africa and sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd, will engage students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions across Nigeria in a historic campaign against malaria.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Umenwa, represented by the Vice Chairman, Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mr. Godwin Umenwa, expressed optimism about the turnout of representatives from various student associations, noting that their presence signifies a positive outlook for collective action in health advocacy across Nigeria.

“Through the Geneith Health Competition, we hope to inspire innovation among students, empowering them to not only raise awareness but also propose actionable steps to ending malaria in their communities. This will empower them to be advocates and changemakers, giving them a platform to drive initiatives around malaria prevention,” Umenwa said.

The presidents of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), National Association of University Students (NAUS), and National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) expressed confidence in the competition, stating that it ushers in an era of youth representation and participation in addressing a problem that affects human societies worldwide.

The Organizer of the event and Chairman of CEO Africa, Mr. Cletus Ilobanfor, stated that the Geneith Health Competition represents the beginning of a long-term vision of encouraging youth participation on issues of national concern.

Intending participants can enter the competition via their website, www.geneithhealthcompetition.com. As a competition targeted at malaria eradication, participants are encouraged to gather sufficient information on the subject by purchasing a pack of the Coatal Forte Softgel range and scratch the aluminum foil for a link that provides them with information on the Coatal Forte Softgel product and other necessary information on malaria.
