Benue APC Faction Wants Alia, Tinubu as Sole Candidates in 2027 General Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, has endorsed Governor Hycinth Alia as its sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Benue State.
This was done at the Ibrahim Babangida Square, Makurdi during an event to mark the governor’s second year in office.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of APC, Dr Benjamin Omale, and members of the Benue State House of Assembly, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Benue State chapter, and the Gubernatorial Liaison officers (GLOs) moved the motion to endorse the governor.
Chairman of the APC Elders’ Forum in Benue State, Senator Barnabas Gemade, who conducted the affairs, put the motion forward, and all stakeholders, through voice votes, unanimously supported the motion.
President Bola Tinubu was equally adopted as the sole presidential candidate on the platform of the APC in the 2027 general election.
In their separate remarks, the Benue State chapter of the APC, the Benue State Council of traditional rulers and other stakeholders scored the Alia administration high in the area of security and infrastructure development.
Omale said all the council wards were with the party, saying the administration’s policies had attracted support.
He said from security, civil service reforms, equipment of hospitals, agriculture, the ICT, youth and women empowerment policies have endeared Benue people to the administration.
Gemade, on his part, said Benue people were proud of the agricultural policy of the Alia administration to check food shortage in the state.
He assured them that Alia would get up to one million votes in 2027, more than the four hundred votes he got in the 2023 general election, saying development has sprang up in infrastructure, electricity.
