Temidayo Babatunde: Rising Star in Nollywood with a Story to Tell

From Classroom to the Silver Screen

Born and raised in Nigeria, Temidayo attended United Secondary School in Ilorin, Kwara State, before proceeding to Lagos State Polytechnic, where she studied Business Administration and graduated in 2017. Though her academic background is in business, her true passion has always been in the arts, specifically acting.

A Passion Ignited in 2003

Temidayo’s acting career began in 2003 when she joined Ogungbensan Theatre Group in Ilorin. There, she honed her craft, learning the intricacies of acting and the broader Nollywood industry. However, despite her initial enthusiasm, she had to step away from the industry for personal reasons. It wasn’t until 2017—after completing her studies—that she returned to acting full-time. Since then, her journey has been nothing short of fulfilling.

Overcoming Challenges in the Industry

Like many actors navigating Nollywood, Temidayo has had her share of ups and downs. One particularly unforgettable experience happened when she was called for a role in Ibadan. After two days of rehearsals, she was shocked to learn that her role had been handed to another actress—solely because the actress’s father was a well-established figure in the industry.

“I felt extremely embarrassed,” she recalls. “I noticed I was being ignored and had to confront the producer and director. After much back and forth, they apologized and gave me another role, but I can never forget that experience.”

Despite such setbacks, Temidayo remains undeterred, using every experience—good or bad—as a stepping stone to greater heights.

Temidayo Babatunde may not have a stage name yet, but she is steadily building a name for herself in Nollywood. With her dedication and passion, she is poised for bigger opportunities in the industry.
