Durodola Inspires Excellence at Eva Adelaja Girls Junior Secondary School

Eva Adelaja Girls Junior Secondary School, Bariga recently hosted its 10th Annual Speech and Prize Giving Day, themed “Honouring Achievement, Inspiring the Future.” The event celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of students who excelled in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), highlighting their dedication and hard work.  

Two outstanding students were recognised for their exceptional academic performances, setting a benchmark of excellence within the school and across Lagos State.  Okafor Augusta Adaeze emerged as the Best Graduating Student, achieving an impressive  3 A1s, 3 A2s, and 4 A3s. Her hard work and dedication earned her a cash prize of N100,000 awarded by Deola Durodola, a Development Professional and Executive Director of  United Way Greater Nigeria.

Similarly, Abolaji Adeshina Saadat Ejide was recognised as the Overall Best Student, achieving 1 A1, 5 A2s, and 4 A3s. Ejide stood out for exceptional character, diligence and commitment.  She was presented with a cash prize of N50,000, a reward for her consistent academic brilliance.  These achievements place the students among the top performers in Lagos State, serving as a testament to their determination, resilience, and the school’s unwavering commitment to fostering academic success.  

As the guest speaker, Durodola, a proud alumnus of the school, delivered an inspiring address. She reflected on her formative years at Eva Adelaja Girls Junior Secondary School and shared how the values, lessons, and opportunities she received laid the foundation for her successful career.  

Emphasising the importance of perseverance discipline and a strong commitment to education, she encouraged the students to dream big and remain focused on their studies.
