Toyin Ogundipe among CRMI Honorees for Pioneering Institute’s Curriculum
Managing Director of Expo-Net Professionals, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, has been commended alongside others, for her pivotal role in developing the inaugural professional examination and curriculum of the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria (CRMI), marking the Institute’s formal journey into Certification of Professionals in Risk Management in Nigeria.
Established by Act No. 39 of 2022, the CRMI is the nation’s statutory body for risk managers, mandated to set standards, award the Chartered Risk Manager ( CRM) designation, and advance enterprise risk management (ERM) practices.
Ogundipe was awarded at the Institute’s Award night during its 23rd Annual International Conference in Lagos themed ‘The Emerging Crisis in Africa and the Way Forward’.
The conference brought together Africa’s top professionals, thought leaders, and stakeholders to address the continent’s most pressing challenges across sectors.
Ogundipe was recognised for her pivotal contributions to CRMI curriculum development, including her personal sponsorship of a trip to the United Kingdom to engage the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and other key stakeholders.
Registrar of the institute, Mr Victor Olannye noted that Ogundipe’s technical input in shaping the curriculum was quite instrumental and had remained evergreen.
Also honoured alongside Ogundipe was a Risk Management Consultant, Mrs. Olufunmi Adepoju who was recognised for developing the CRM study packs from the ground up at a significantly discounted cost.
The institute noted the significance of this gesture as happening at a time when CRMI was unable to meet the fees required by leading international consulting firms.
Olannye said Adepoju’s intervention made it possible for examinations to commence without any compromise in quality.
He informed that setting the examination and curriculum remained vital as at the period, considering that CRMI had recently upgraded its professional certification from Certified Risk Manager to Chartered Risk Manager Professional Certification towards strengthening standards and deepening professional capacity in the country’s risk management practice.
“The Governing Council deemed it necessary to honour these individuals whose innovative inputs were central to building the curriculum and study packs from inception, establishing standards, creating professional linkages, and providing support through the commencement and hand-holding period of the examinations,”he said.
Remarking, Ogundipe said designing the exam template and curriculum fulfills her long‑time dream of a home‑grown, robust professional examination for risk management practitioners such that develops individuals, strengthens institutions, and advances the profession in Nigeria.
She added, ” This recognition affirms the value of my contributions, and I am grateful that they did not go unnoticed, I am grateful to the leadership of the Institute for this honour”.
