Do Not Sell All Your Harvest, Fintiri Appeals to Farmers

Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has tasked traditional rulers and stakeholders to encourage farmers not to sell all their harvests, instead, they should save them against 2024.
Fintiri in his speech also tasked them to encourage dry season farming to ensure adequate food security in the state in 2024.
The governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, at the ceremony of the conferment of traditional chieftaincy titles on some illustrious sons, daughters and friends of Batta Kingdom in Demsa Local Government Area of the state over the weekend, also sued for peace.
Fintiri admonished traditional rulers, stakeholders and recipients of various titles of the kingdom to support the peaceful foundations laid by his government that brought about the crisis between the farmers and herdsmen to it barest minimum.
The governor further explained that only in the atmosphere of peace that development can thrive in the state and the country at large.
He also charged the recipients of various traditional titles to be good ambassadors and work hard for the benefits of peace and tranquility of the state.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of Batta Traditional Council, Hama Batta, His Royal Highness ,Homun Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke, said the traditional titles were not for show but to spur the kingdom’s sons and daughters and friends of the kingdom into good works that will move the kingdom forward.
The royal father further explained that the titles was also in recognition of hard work and good work, and also to encourage their illustrious sons and daughters, who did very well in all spheres of life that made the kingdom, proud to do more.
He charged especially the recipients to be good ambassadors and defend the culture and customs of the kingdom
The Hama Batta also charged farmers to take advantage of the River Benue that passed through the kingdom to venture into irrigation and dry season farming to ensure food security.
However, Governor Fintiri’s first son, Alhaji Hamidu Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, was conferred as Kurmo Batta, followed by Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar conferred as Fyemi Batta; Senator Aminu Iya Abbas as Turmo Batta; and former PDP state Chairman, Chief Joel Hammajoda Madaki, conferred as Nzomurokake Bwatiye among others.
