NGO Partners S’East Education Ministries to Offer Scholarship to 250 Students

 A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), De Imperial Philanthropic Family, has announced that its partnership with the ministries of education in the five South-east states to grant scholarship to 250 students in the zone.

The group, in a press release it issued yesterday in Awka, Anambra State, which was signed by the coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Frank Igbojindu, stated that entry into the scholarship scheme is for students in public schools, especially junior secondary.

Igbojindu said: “The scholarship is designed to encourage students from less privileged homes to have access to secondary education in the zone.

“About 250 students from the zone will be selected for the scholarship which will see them throughout their secondary education.

“Fifty students will be selected from each state of the zone after conducting scholarships qualifying examinations that would be held in each state’s capital.

“The qualifying examination for the scholarship would be held in November 2023 across the five states

“We are partnering with the ministry of education of each of the five states for the purpose of achieving success.”

He quoted the President of  De Imperial Philanthropic Family, Dr. Darlington Nwabunike, as saying that the organisation aims at using the scholarship to engage and encourage the youths.

He said that the examination is free and include school fees, levies, uniforms, books, and registration for junior and senior WAEC examinations.
