Imah Avwerosuo: Building Legacy for a Secure Digital Future
By Tosin Clegg
Imah Avwerosuo, a seasoned administrator and strategist in governance and operational resilience, is charting a new course in building a secure digital future through strategic public-private partnerships and cyber-infrastructure protection.
Disclosing this in a media statement recently, he shared that his new focus stems from the growing need to strengthen national infrastructure against emerging cyber threats.
He asserts that his journey began at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), where he served as an Administrative Officer for more than 15 years.
During that period, he became a vital link between government agencies, multinational corporations, and community leaders, balancing interests and resolving conflicts that often threatened to halt major projects.
“In the Niger Delta, administration isn’t about filing paperwork,” Avwerosuo recalls. “It is about understanding human geography.
It’s about knowing that a delayed project report isn’t just a scheduling conflict; it could be a symptom of a community grievance that, if unaddressed, can halt entire operations.
My role was to listen, analyze, and build bridges before the first brick was even laid.”
In the statement, he shared that his experience in the field taught him that progress depends on more than resources or policy; it depends on trust and systems that work.
While others focused on the macroeconomics of oil, Avwerosuo quietly built the administrative frameworks that kept development projects alive.
He spearheaded process improvements that cut inefficiencies by 30%, ensuring that resources reached the communities they were meant for.
For him, success was not measured in numbers but in stability and impact.
This foundation in operational resilience has become central to his next chapter. Now based in Portsmouth, Avwerosuo is applying his administrative insight and strategic understanding to a new frontier — cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.
For him, the digital networks that sustain modern life are no different from the community systems he once worked to stabilize in the Niger Delta.
Drawing from Avwerosuo’s years of experience bridging gaps between institutions and communities, he advocates for inclusive frameworks where governments, private organizations, and local actors work together to strengthen resilience.
Beyond his professional expertise, Avwerosuo shared in the statement that his journey is also anchored in personal integrity and faith.
He holds certifications in public sector administration and ethical leadership and has completed leadership training with the Church of God Mission International.
His perspective on security reflects a simple truth learned over years of experience: systems fail when people stop listening.
Avwerosuo is a seasoned administrator and strategist. He continues to inspire a new vision of innovation not only in technology but in the people who understand how to make systems work.
