NIPSA Celebrates Mrs Osagwu Nnenna for Shaping Pharmacology’s Next Generation

Following the National Pharmacology Forum 2022, where Mrs Nnenna Anestina Osagwu was a guest speaker, the Nigeria Pharmacology Student Association (NIPSA) has formally recognized her unparalleled dedication to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in pharmacology, toxicology, and therapeutics.

In an interview after the event, NIPSA National President, Abdul-Azeez Lanihun, praised Mrs Osagwu’s transformative impact on academic mentorship and research development, emphasizing her commitment to shaping the future of pharmacology in Nigeria.

“Mrs Osagwu’s mentorship has been instrumental in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application,” he stated. “Since 2017, more than 400 students have benefited from her annual free mentorship sessions through InnovateMed Research & Clinical Solutions, gaining access to training, research guidance, and professional exposure that has propelled them into becoming independent contributors to pharmacology and public health.”
He further noted that many of these students have gone on to publish independent research, secure competitive fellowships, and contribute to the pharmaceutical sector, demonstrating the lasting impact of her mentorship model.

Additionally, the President of NIPSA’s Olabisi Onabanjo chapter acknowledged Mrs Osagwu’s profound influence on students, citing her high-achieving academic record as a first-class graduate and best in her cohort as a source of inspiration for young pharmacologists.

The event concluded with a special commendation from NIPSA’s leadership, reaffirming Mrs Osagwu’s position as a leading figure in pharmacological education and professional development, with promises to expand collaborations that further promote mentorship-driven excellence in pharmaceutical sciences.
