Shalom Nwoha’s ‘You Can Do Anything’ Inspires Audiences with Powerful Dance Production
Dancer and choreographer Shalom Nwoha once again left audiences in awe with her latest production, “You Can Do Anything”. Held in Akoka, the outstanding performance was more than just a dance show, it was a celebration of resilience, empowerment, and the power of artistic expression.
Blending contemporary and traditional dance styles, “You Can Do Anything” brought together a diverse group of performers, each telling a unique story of perseverance and self-belief through movement. The production was further enriched by the involvement of key organisations, including the Guild of Nigerian Dance Practitioners (GONDP), the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), and Artistry Youth Dance (AYD) UK.
For Shalom, dance is more than entertainment, it’s a platform for change. “This performance is about breaking barriers and proving that with passion and determination, anything is possible,” she shared. “I wanted to create something that inspires young creatives to go after their dreams.”
The collaboration with GONDP, NANTAP, and AYD brought added depth to the show, with each organisation contributing in its own way. GONDP reaffirmed its commitment to elevating Nigerian dance, NANTAP highlighted the role of theatre and performance in cultural storytelling, while AYD provided a space for young dancers to shine.
The audience was deeply moved, with many describing the experience as more than just a performance. “It felt like a movement,” one attendee said. “The energy, the passion, the storytelling, it was all so powerful. Shalom has reminded us of our strength and potential.”
With such an overwhelmingly positive response, Nwoha and her team are already thinking about the next steps, hoping to take “You Can Do Anything” to more stages and even incorporate workshops for young artists.
For those who missed it, this is just the beginning. Shalom Nwoha’s “You Can Do Anything” isn’t just a production—it’s a message of hope, determination, and the boundless possibilities that come with believing in yourself.
