The Muhammad Rosulullah International Conference has called for peace and adherence to the laws in the state and the nation as the Prophet, Muhammad, would expect.
This was the call made at the 3rd edition of the Muhammad Rosulullah International Conference which was held in January this year in Lagos.
The Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Islamic Matters, Mr. Jebe Abdullahi, told newsmen that the Prophet had taught them perseverance, tolerance, good dealings, behaviour, obedience, and discipline.
While acknowledging that the conference aims to enlighten Muslim fauthful the teachings of humanity by the Prophet, the SA, representing the State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reminded participants of respect and obedience to all.
He emphasised: “In our day to day dealings people don’t obey or respect anybody: children don’t respect elders, elders don’t respect children, the youth aren’t respecting their leaders the leaders too are neglecting everybody.
“Discipline is the key. So I enjoin our youth to accept the leaders and we keep ourselves together and the leaders should accommodate the youth.”
Speaking on the theme, “Muhammad the Most Precious Gift”, one of the pioneer members of the Muhammad Group, Mariam Oropo expressed thanks to the Prophet for setting perfect examples on how Islam affects the society and lifestyle.
She hinted: “If we celebrate him the whole year round the clock it won’t be enough. He deserves much more. He is the best of mankind and has shown us how to live an iconic lifestyle”
Oropo, however, described the Prophet as a good leader and listener, calling on citizens to adhere to laws governing the state and the nation.
“And we expect our leaders to have our interest at heart first like the prophet. If you are a selfless person you will care about your worth,” she urged.
Echoing their thoughts, the host of programme, Sheikh Al-Mukhtar, commended the Prophet for preaching peace to the world, tolerance, giving hope to mankind, treating mankind well, and bringing mankind out of darkness
“Let us obey the message of the prophet in all our doing: the way we think, talk, and act. It would go a long way in helping. Thus, we have to be good ambassadors of Islam when things happen,” he said.
