Electoral Bill: Senate Sets up 7-man Conference Commitee on Electronic Transmission of Election Results

The Senate has constituted a 7-man conference committee to harmonise its position with that of the House of Representatives on electronic transmission of election results.

President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan who disclosed this at the commencement of plenary on Wednesday said the Committee will liaise with its counterpart in the Green Chamber for harmonisation of the clause on electronic transmission of voting as contained in the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2021 passed in July by the two chambers.

He listed the committee members to include the Senate Leader, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (APC Kebbi North) as Chairman; while Kabiru Gaya (APC Kano South) , Ajibola Basiru (APC Osun Central ), Danjuma Goje (APC Gombe Central), Uche Ekwunife (PDP Anambra Central) Sani Musa (APC Niger East ) and Mathew Urhoghide ( PDP Edo South ) are members.
