Runsewe Heads Kogi’s Culture, Tourism Committee
Kogi State Governor, Mr. Yahaya Bello, has appointed a nine-man Tourism Intervention Advisory Committee (TIAC), in his bid to change the narratives of culture and tourism trade in the state.
The TIAC would be chaired by the Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Mr. Segun Runsewe, as chairman.
A statement that was issued by the Secretary to Government of Kogi State, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, said the appointment of Runsewe, who is also the President, Africa Region of the World Craft Council (WCC), took effect immediately.
The appointment came a week after Runsewe lead the 36 states’ commissioners and directors of Arts and Culture to a technical meeting on National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) in Ekiti State.
Other members of the committee are Kogi State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba,who is the alternate chairman; The Chief Executive Officer of Nike Arts Galary, Mr. Nike Okundayo; the Proprietor of La Campaigne Resort, Mr. Wanle Akinboboye and Mr. Joseph Makoju and
Others are Head, Culture and Tourism, African Union, Mr. Kehinde Quadri Adu; the Representative of Kogi State Strategic Revenue Growth Initiative, Mr. Yesufu Abubakar and Dr. Ronke Bello as well as the Special Adviser to Governor Bello on Culture and Tourism Hon. Femi Bolaji.
In his acceptance speech, Runsewe assured the governor that he would work with other members of the committee to reposition culture and tourism in Kogi State and realise his dreams for Kogi State economy, particularly in culture and tourism.
He said: “I want to thank His Excellency on behalf of this committee of eminent Nigerians for finding us worthy to discharge this assignment, which will be given immediate attention.
