Air Crash: Church Service, Funeral Prayers for Army Chief, Others Under way

Christian funeral service and Islamic funeral prayers are ongoing for the late Chief of Army Staff and 10 others, who died in an air crash in Kaduna Friday evening.

The bodies of the late army chief arrived the Abuja airport at about 11 am.

An airport reception team was in place waiting for the C130 aircraft conveying the remains to arrive with the caskets.

The bodies of the army chief and the muslim personnel were taken in a motorcade to the National Mosque while the bodies of the departed Christian personnel were taken to the Nigerian Airforce Protestant Church, Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, Abuja.

Both services are still ongoing.

The bodies of the fallen officers would be taken to the National Military Cemetery, Abuja for burial.
