Tatelier Designs has chosen the year 2021 to unveil a symphony of elegance. The latest collection is a wonder, and it would be hard to tilt it to either innovation or sophistication. Therefore, it can be said to be a combination of both. In this collection, every stitch tells a powerful story, and every fabric is an expression of sustainable production. This isn’t just a collection of fashionable pieces; it is a celebration of creativity. 

The year 2021 called for daring fashion, and TatelierDesigns answered yes! This is a look that serves rich aunty drama with a little spice of elegance and African charm ‘cause this is a whole colour-blocked package in all its beauty. 

Firstly, the colour deserves a standing ovation. The top is not just orange but a fiery orange. And oh, the style! A full-bodied wrap top that not only steals the spotlight but stretches the attention span of an audience to all parts of it. It’s the type of hue that makes a woman the main character in any gathering. Then, the designer decides to steal more spotlight by pairing this extraordinary top with emerald green pants. This is the look for a royal garden party. The colours are not just bold but outstanding. 

Now, to the fabric. The texture of the orange top resembles a sheen, more like the wearer is wrapped in a contemporary light. The way the material catches the light easily is obvious, and it gives more depth and a little bit of luxury to the top. Meanwhile, the green oversized pants give a silky flow. The material is breathable and looks like it gives that swishy movement while the wearer is walking. 

A round of applause for this design? Definitely. The wrap style of the top is voluminous with dramatic sleeves. And the oversized pants? Perfectly genius. It looks like those Asian Kimono designs that give a perfect palazzo symmetry, wide-legged and flowy. 

Where we’d say that the designer went a little overboard with the design is the cinched waist through the addition of a rope in the waist area. 

The silhouette of this two-piece wear can never be ignored. From a snatched waist to billowing hips to sleeves that make a not-subtle statement, this silhouette commands eyes to look at the outfit. The style is completely fearless enough to make the wearer look iconic. There’s no way contemporary innovation and African tradition did not work together in the designer’s imagination. This is beyond dressing to impress – but rather, dressing to express.

However, as stated earlier, some areas were a little overboard and did not hit the mark. A few tweaks here and there could elevate the look. Starting with balancing the volume of the top in harmony with the volume of the pants. While the designer may have wanted to be generous with the fabric, both pieces of this two-piece set are fighting for the attention of a person’s eyes. 

The fabric coordination needs a little bit of adjustment. While the colour combination looks good, there’s a lack of harmony in how the textures are blended. It looks like each piece is for a different season. Using the same type of fabric texture will make this outfit look iconic. Fitting and tailoring are other areas that require improvement. While the wrap top makes the wearer’s waist look gorgeously snatched, the extra-long ends of the tie should have been made short to serve a better purpose. Although it looks stunning, it just stands at a risk of overwhelming the entire design. A shorter waist tie would define the wearer’s torso perfectly rather than competing with the height of the person. 

All in all, this outfit is a complete masterpiece. 

This radiant red dress deserves a round of applause. It’s a complete masterpiece, and it sets the whole mood of the wearer into an elegant one. If Tatelier Designs is trying to teach us anything, it has to be that simplistic designs can be powerful. This outfit is a testament to this fact.

One outstanding feature is the fabric. It looks smooth and adds enough structure to the piece. It’s the type that doesn’t wrinkle under pressure and still manages to catch light on its surface. Not too matte, not too shiny either – just perfect! And the design? The designer deserves all her flowers. 

Moreover, the cinched waist and V-neck design have made this dress a wardrobe staple. Making it look sleek with the dainty bow design on the side of the dress. The sleeves show perfection. Not only does it make this dress perfect for boardrooms, but it also makes it comfortable enough for casual and semi-casual outings. 

While this dress is boldly placed in a position of elegance, some areas still require adjustments. The wrap silhouette makes so much sense, only that it adds a little stiffness to the outfit, especially around the midsection area. Also, the length of the sleeves looks a bit too conservative. A shorter length with a little bit of detailwould have made the dress look more sophisticated. The wrap tie also needs a little bit of tweaking. It doesn’t look classic enough for such a bold colour. A bolder and more daring bow design at the waist would serve as a better stylish element to the dress. 

In all sincerity, the designer needs to be appreciated for this piece. It’s giving 1990 businesswoman plus 2021 boss chic vibes. This type of outfit certainly makes a woman the main character in any gathering. 

The pink and red colour combination exudes a soft femininity from the outfit. It’s giving Valentine’s Day on a workday type of outfit. This colour-blocking is intentional and makes the outfit completely unforgettable. From the look of the material, the fabric texture is quite luxurious – the designer must have made sure to perfectly blend the modern style with a sophisticated silhouette shape by adding a slit to the hem of the dress. 

The previous statement holds true in the collar design that gently drapes into a V-neck. It’s a modest fit that completely accentuates the wearer’s figure. While the diagonally placed red buttons present the dress with a daring flair, the sleeves cannot be ignored either. 

The slight puff around the shoulders grounds the look in complete elegance. This is the kind of look modern women should adopt as it represents a strong, feminine energy. In terms of style, this dress reveals the entire narrative of the blended artistry that exists in the fashion world. 

The designer not only created a dress but also designed an entire mood board. 

The button placement is a fabulous idea, but it doesn’t make the dress visually interesting. The placement is a bit off, but why is it diagonal instead of a neater and somewhat straighter row of decorative buttons to streamline the silhouette? 

Also, the colour blocking is wonderful, but a lightershade of red around the cuffs and collar would shift the piece towards being an outstanding one in the collection. This particular tone makes the cloth look visually heavy. With these minimal adjustments, this piece can easily evolve into a modern fashion brilliance.
