IG to Deploy Gunboats to Patrol Lagos Creeks

Following the ongoing issue of pipeline vandalism and insecurity in Lagos State, the acting Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, on Wednesday said the police high command would deploy gunboats and patrol boats to tackle the problems of insecurity in our waterways.

Ibrahim, who was on his maiden visit to Lagos,  in the company of the Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, Joshack Habilla and Folunsho Adebanjo, of Operations and ICT Departments respectively, said efforts were on to check criminals operating along creeks and waterways across the nation.

He said this during an interactive meeting with security stakeholders in the state. He added that criminal activities on the waterways  and creeks were of serious concern to him.
