Auto Crash Claims Four Lives in Edo

Forty-eight hours to the year 2018, four persons have been reportedly dead and two others sustained severe injuries in an accident which occurred along Benin-Asaba Road.

The accident, which was said to have involved a Toyota Hiace Bus with registration No FGG 804YN and a truck with the registration No FC503GML, occurred around 1:35pm on Friday at the Abudu bridge in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Route Commander and Public Education Officer, FRSC, Edo Sector Command, Mr. George Oshoke Otoaviokhai, said six persons were involved in the accident, four males and two female adults.

He said out of the six persons that were involved in the accident, two males and two females lost their lives on the spot while two others were rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.

Oshoke, who confirmed the accident, however, blamed it on over-speeding. He said the remains of the dead accident victims have since been deposited in the morgue.
