Glo Laffta Fest hits Onitsha on Independence Day

The 57th Independence of Nigeria will be celebrated in style by Glo subscribers in Onitsha, Anambra State, as the mega comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest, berths in the bustling city on Sunday. 

It is the 25th edition of the much sought-after show, which commenced in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on April 16th, 2017.  It has spread fun and mirth to 24 other locations across the country since then. 

The Onitsha edition of the show is billed for CJ Patterson International Auditorium Complex, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha at 2pm and will feature some of Nigeria’s wittiest and best comedians, such as Bovi Ugboma, Godwin Komone, popularly called Gordons, Frank D Don and Senator, among others.

The show will be graced by some of Nigeria’s best known Nollywood faces, such as Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor, popularly called Mama G, and Angela Okorie. 

The Onitsha edition of the show will be anchored by the duo of Juliet Ibrahim and Uche Jombo, while dignitaries and very important personalities from all walks of life are expected to be in attendance.

“It is going to be an extra-ordinary Independence Day celebration in Onitsha on Sunday. The show has gone round major cities in Nigeria, dispensing uncommon fun and excitement. Onitsha will be no different. People of Onitsha and environs should prepare to have fun like never before”, Globacom said in a press release from its head office in Lagos. 

The comedians on the show in separate interviews promise fun lovers an unforgettable entertainment on Sunday. 

“Onitsha, get ready for us as we come on Sunday. We are going to give you like you like it, hot and spicy. It’s going to be fun like you’ve never seen before,” said Bovi.

The ‘Bishop of Osusu Ministry’, as Gordons is fondly called, said: “Let everyone in Onitsha tell everyone else that I am coming to minister on Sunday. Prepare for an unforgettable evening of fun. You cannot afford to miss this”. 

To attend the Onitsha show, Glo subscribers are expected to use up to N2,000 credit within one month and text LOL with the location name to the short code 240; for example, “LOL Onitsha” to 240. Subscribers who do not meet this criterion but who wish to attend the show are requested to go to the event venue with N2000 to purchase airtime for their own use. They will then be entitled to a ticket. 

After Onitsha, the show moves to Makurdi in Benue State before going to Ajah in Lagos.
