Online Business: Knowledge, Personal Stories now New Gold, Business Coach Tells Women

•As iRise women conference debuts maiden edition

Celebrity Business Growth Coach Stephanie Obi has in the wave of women and youth empowerment, particularly in the area of self-actualization revealed that skills, knowledge, personal stories and experiences are now the new gold in online businesses.

She said diversifying income streams can include, but not limited to coaching and consulting, membership of communities, affiliate marketing, referral partnerships, strategic collaboration, licensing of course framework, certifications and merch/ apparels.

Speaking yesterday at the maiden edition of the 2025 iRise Women Conference in Abuja with the theme, “Crowned with wisdom, empowered for wealth”, Obi urged women who must live purposeful lives to turn the knowledge they have acquired in everyday life into online courses that can be sold daily.

In her lecture titled, “Building wealth and influence in the online space”, Obi also encouraged women not to belittle their gifts and talents, but to see them as capacities that can transform lives, build a global audience and position one as an authority.

Sharing her personal experiences and how she became a big name in the online business space, Obi who informed that there’s a prophetic role and the God-factor in all human engagements, harped on the need for obedience, noting that when God gives instructions, then there’s a territory to be conquered. 

According to her: “Your skill, knowledge, story can be turned into income. Your knowledge is the new gold. Turn that knowledge into a course and sell it every day. Your good is something that you have that someone can pay for. Don’t belittle the gifts and that’s how to make money from it.”

She said when going into online business, women must note the following which includes: “Put whatever amount you want to your expertise, package yourself, don’t wait for permission to shine and remember the massive assignment on your life.”

She noted that some reasons that are responsible for poverty in the lives of many revolves around pride, fear of rejection, shame and failure, lack of capacity and being honest to self, amongst several others.

In her speech, the convener of iRise Women Conference, Halima Oyelade, said women and youths can define the future that they desire and walk in divine clarity with the deliberate effort to live the lives they have been born to live.

She reiterated that there’s wisdom in walking in God’s purpose and which is the reason behind the conference with key focus to shift mindsets, break circles and activate the tool that ignite the inner fire and passion to succeed.

She said while many have waited enough, and it is time to stop consuming and start creating, she added that there are different levels of wisdom which include level of wisdom and know g what to do, how to do it with support for God’s word and reading everything about one’s field, and also practical application.

She encouraged that women must go past, “Discouragement from dreaming by others, hindrance by past disappointments and hurts, habit of settling for average, lack of confidence needed to pursue dreams and lack of imagination to dream”.

Other speakers were Co-National Director of Rhema Nigeria, Dr. Akunna Adejuwon and the Managing Director of ARM investment managers, Kai Orga.

Other activities included spoken word, talks on journaling and several others.
