The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed concern over the abandonment of a multi-million naira educational project belonging to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the state.
Radda, who inspected the apex bank stalled project at the Dikko College in Katsina city, decried the project’s prolonged delay since its commencement in 2019.
He said the flagship educational infrastructure initiative, originally scheduled for completion in June 2022, presently stands at approximately 65 to 75 per cent completion stage.
He urged the contractor handling the abandoned educational-driven project to return to site in order to complete the project to serve its intended purpose of capacity building and human capital development.
During the inspection, the governor took a tour of the partially completed hostel blocks, multipurpose hall, laboratories, administrative block and sports arena of the project.
The CBN intervention project was said to be facilitated through the advocacy of the Dikko College’s Old Boys Association with former President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, the educational project, which was supposed to be completed in 2022, remained a shadow of itself after the Buhari’s administration.
The renowned Dikko College, know as Government College, Katsina, is Buhari’s Alma mater.
