The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved the nomination of the following party members to serve on the local government area Congress Electoral Committee to conduct the LGA national delegates congress for the purpose of electing one national delegate per LGA in Ondo State.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the Congress is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the INEC Collation Centre in each LGA in Ondo State.
Hon. Kingsley Chinda is Chairman of the committee, while other members are Hon. Kalu Uduma, Taiwo Adeniyi,  Abdulhamid Yusuf as members, while Ismaila Alkali will serve as Secretary

The NWC, however, charged all governorship aspirants, leaders, critical stakeholders and members of the party in Ondo State to take note and be guided accordingly.
Meanwhile, a governorship aspirant of the APC in Ondo State, Jimi Odimayo, has called on the national leadership of the party not make a mistake of fielding a wrong candidate for the party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Odimayo, who is the current Chairman, House Committee on Population in the House of Representatives, explained that Ondo South earnestly yearned for a two-term of eight years for whoever would represent the district as governor from February 24, 2025.

Speaking at the official declaration of his intention to run for the race at the NUJ Press Centre in Akure, Odimayo said the law did not permit the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to be sworn in as governor thrice if he intends to run for two terms because he was sworn-in as deputy governor alongside his late principal, Rotimi Akeredolu, on 25 February 2021.

The lawmaker said he believed it would be right for any aspirant, who by law would be deprived from spending a two-term of eight years to jettison his governorship ambition in the best interest of Ondo South senatorial district.
