Ugoccie Unveils “Voice Of The East (V.O.T.E)” EP

Gifted songstress Favour Ugochi Anosike, popularly known as Ugoccie, has officially launched her highly anticipated EP titled “Voice Of The East (V.O.T.E).” The EP features an array of captivating melodies including tracks such as “Isimgbaka,” “Uwa,” “Ogo M,” and “Ezi Enyi.”

When asked about the inspiration behind the EP, Ugoccie remarked, it is an intentional storytelling project that adds a new dimension to my music, with purposeful melodies. It draws inspiration from real-life events and narratives, as well as my fondness for storytelling from childhood and my deep connection to culture.”

Expounding on her decision to embrace her indigenous style, the 2022 Headies ‘Rookie of the Year’ nominee expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Eastern region of Nigeria. She stated, “I feel like a void has been filled. There aren’t many women who tell stories the way Ugoccie does. Incorporating my indigenous style is truly a boon for the Eastern part of Nigeria. Drawing inspiration from icons like Onyeka Onwenu, Celestine Ukwu, and others, my music brings a refreshing vibrancy to the Eastern scene of the Nigerian music industry.”
