Bridge Clinic Celebrates Advanced Fertility Treatment

Bridge Clinic, Nigeria’s premier fertility Clinic, has commemorated its 25th anniversary this year, marking a quarter of a century of groundbreaking achievements in advanced reproductive healthcare across the nation.

According to the Managing Director of Bridge Clinic, Sunny Ekhalume, for 25 years the clinic has blazed the trail in advanced fertility treatments in Nigeria.

“It has brought succour to over 1,000 families and pioneered the development of new and improved fertility treatments that are currently applied in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) clinics worldwide,” he said.

As the first-focused fertility clinic in the country, the MD said the clinic boasts numerous pioneering feats, including the first conception and birth by Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) in Nigeria in the year 2000 while the first conception and birth through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) surrogacy in the country was in 2003. And the first conception and birth through oocyte cryopreservation in Nigeria in 2003.

He added: “Consistently high pregnancy rates and the birth of over 3,000 babies testify to our unwavering dedication to delivering successful outcomes for our patients and reaffirm our position as a trusted leader in fertility treatments.”  In providing high-quality reproductive healthcare services to both men and women, the clinic is proud of packages like comprehensive fertility assessments, counselling, and personalised treatment plans to address various reproductive health issues.  “We have been an advocate for patients struggling with infertility and reproductive health issues.

“This partnership has enabled us to subsidise the cost of IVF, making high-quality, affordable fertility treatments available for the first time in Nigeria.

“Over a thousand couples have been treated under this scheme and many couples have since become proud parents.   “This initiative not only ensures that our Nigerian operations continue to meet international benchmarks but also provides a wider platform for the training of Nigerian staff, further enhancing our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

“We are immensely proud to celebrate 25 years of serving our patients and bringing joy to families. Our first set of twins celebrated their 24th birthday sometime this year,” he said.
