Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,  yesterday said  the ultra-modern 30 -bed cottage hospital built in Warri by the Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi-led administration has buttressed his support for financial autonomy for local government councils.

Speaking while inaugurating the multi-million naira cottage hospital erected at the former playground in Upper Erejuwa Road, Warri, the governor expressed his appreciation to the council boss, noting that he was pleased with the project because it will advance health care at the grassroots, which he said is cardinal programme of his administration.

Oborevwori noted that Warri South LGA under the leadership of Dr. Michael Tidi has performed very well, and expressed the hope that the progress made so far would be sustained by the next administration of the council.

Tidi, who will be rounding off his tour of duty by the end of this month, reeled out the achievements of his administration in the past years in office.

He noted that the recommendations from the two Warri Economic Summits organised by his administration, gave birth to some of the mind-boggling people-oriented projects being witnessed in Warri South Local Government Area.

The council boss commended Governor Oborevwori for siting various infrastructural projects in Warri, adding: “I want to use this opportunity to on behalf of our people sincerely thank the governor for the construction of the flyover and the connecting roads in Warri that are already ongoing, the street lights and many more projects that time would not permit me to mention here sir, the impact of your MORE Agenda are laudable.

“The beauty these projects are already bringing to Warri is further changing the narratives of Warri for good.”
