Osun Cleric Suggests Ways to Tackle Current Economic Hardship in Nigeria

The Founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Mercy and Praise, Ori Oke Anu, Kajola-Owode Ede, Osun State, Pastor Daniel Agbolade, has urged Nigerians to engage in fervent prayer by seeking divine mercy to tackle current economy hardship, saying prayer is the only solution.

Pastor Agbolade maintained that Nigeria needed serious prayer for its current leaders to succeed in office.

The cleric made this appeal yesterday at the maiden edition of interdenominational prayer to usher in year 2024, organised by Kajola Community Landlords’ Association (KCLA), Kajola.

Agbolade, who is the chairman of Kajola Community Landlords’ Association (KCLA) said:  “Nigeria is our country let’s pray for her prosperity.”

He, however, appealed to political leaders to ensure that they have spirit of God in them saying, “when someone has spirit of God in him, he will lead with fear of God.

“And out of that fear of God implies that people under them will not suffer.”

He, however, charged landlords and residents of Kajola community to spread love among themselves, stressing that where there is love development will come in.

The Baale of Kajola, Mr. Yinusa Kabiru Alade, who spoke on the challenges confronted by his subject, called on network service providers to come to their aid by providing solution to epileptic network services in order to ensure that residents of his community have access to network services of their choice.

He lauded Governor Adeleke Adeleke’s developmental stride across the state since he assumed office and urged him to consider linking Owode-Ede Road to Atakumosa West for Kajola continuous development.

In their separate sermons, Pastor Olukunle Opeyemi and Sheik Adewuyi Fatai urged members of Kajola community to live in harmony and be their brothers’ keepers, encouraging them not to allow current economy hardship to disunite them.

Elder Olaniyan Davide Adeyemi, Chairman of Sumbare Landlord Association, called on Osun State Government to provide more security to protect their lives and property.

He also commended KCLA leadership for ensuring that the spirit of love remained with them, which made them to organise the prayer for the prosperity and protection of its members possible, urged other community leaders to emulate them.

Meanwhile, residents of the community also benefited from the free medical outreach organised by the leadership of the KCLA.

Sule Flags Off Sales of 660 Metric Tonnes of Fertilizers to Dry Season Farmers

The Nasararwa State Governor, Mr. Abdullahi Sule, yesterday flagged off the sales of 660 metric tonnes of assorted fertilizers to dry season farmers in the state at the cost of N12,000 per bag.

Governor Sule also put in place Committees at Local Government and Development Areas said to ensure seamless sales of the commodity, Government has of the state.

He said: “Let me, therefore, warn that those handling the fertilizer sales will be held responsible for any anomaly in the distribution of the fertilizer in their respective domain.

“Coordinators at various levels are to ensure remittance of sales to the designated bank account as any misappropriation will be meted with appropriate sanction.”

The governor also cautioned individuals and groups against purchasing the commodity and selling to farmers at exorbitant rates.

“I need to state that our proximity to the Federal Capital Territory and our strategic location as a link with other neighbouring states, puts Nasarawa State at an advantage position in terms of market for fruits, vegetables and other crops. 

“It is for this reason that our administration has continued to make frantic effort in order to improve the post-harvest sustainable food production in line with the “Renewed Hope” agenda of the federal government.”
