Methodist Church Inaugurates Idanre Diocese

…As prelate enthrones Falade Matthew as pioneer bishop, , presents Dele Akinnagbe as first Lay President  Prelate of  the Methodist Church, Nigeria,

His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, is set to  enthrone Right Rev’d Falade Matthew, the pioneer Bishop of the newly created Diocese of Idanre, as part of activities marking the official inauguration of the Diocese of Idanre.

       The first Lay President of the Diocese, Chief Dele Akinnagbe, will also be presented to the church on Sunday, 14th January, at the Methodist Church, Idale Idanre, Ondo State by 10.00am.

           Earlier, on Saturday, January 13, the Prelate and the members of his entourage will pay a courtesy call on His Imperial Majesty, Oba Frederick Adegunle Aroloye, the Owa of Idanre kingdom and paramount ruler of Idanreland in his palace at 3.00pm and there will be a Prelate Party which will start by 4.00pm at Methodist Church Cathedral, Odode-Idanre.

        Meanwhile, Oba Aroloye has expressed his happiness that Methodist Church in Idanre has scored another first, being the first religious institution to have Standard Six facilities in those days which made him, Owa, an alumnus of Methodist Primary School, Idanre then, and now, the first to have a diocese in the entire Idanreland. In his reaction to the news of the inauguration of the new diocese, Oba Aroloye, assured that he would grace the epoch-making event.

On his part, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Idanre Local Government Area, 

  Rev’d Tunde Akinkuehin, called all well wishers and especially Christian leaders in Idanreland to join in the celebration, just as Chief Dr. Kola Ademujimi, the Chairman of the inauguration Committee, Baba Ijo of the Methodist Church, Idale Idanre and former Chief of Staff to Governor Segun Mimiko, told Idanre Media Services that all was set for the celebration of landmark achievement.
