The Minister in charge of Ministry of Niger Delta Development (MNDD), Abubakar Momoh, has advised Nigerians, especially graduating students of Admiralty University of Nigeria, Ibusa, Delta State, to embrace the values of unity, resilience and innovation.
According to him, diversity is a strength capable of fostering collaboration and understanding in an interconnected world.
Speaking at the second convocation ceremony of the university on Thursday, the minister also solicited
support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, especially the eight priority areas of food security; ending poverty, economic growth and job creation, access to capital; inclusivity; security; fairness and rule of law.
Addressing the graduands, he said: “In the spirit of Nigeria’s rich cultural tapestry, let us embrace the values of unity, resilience and innovation. Your diversity is a strength that can foster collaboration and understanding in an interconnected world.
“As you embark on your respective journeys, carry with you the essence of what it means to be a global citizen while remaining rooted in the values that make Nigeria unique.”
Felicitating the graduands, Momoh commended the Nigerian Navy for not only siting the university in the Niger Delta but for establishing such an institution to expand the frontiers of knowledge in various unique specialisations and raising the bar on academic pursuit through instilling discipline and promoting high moral values on its students.
These, he stated, were the qualities that make Admiralty University stand out, adding that: “Today, we find ourselves at the intersection of accomplishment and new beginnings. As you step into the next chapter of your lives, remember that your education is a powerful tool that empowers you to shape the world around you.
“The knowledge you’ve gained here is not just a degree but a key to unlocking doors of opportunity and contributing meaningfully to society.
“In the spirit of Nigeria’s rich cultural tapestry, let us embrace the values of unity, resilience, and innovation. Your diversity is a strength that can foster collaboration and understanding in an interconnected world.
“As you embark on your respective journeys, carry with you the essence of what it means to be a global citizen while remaining rooted in the values that make Nigeria unique. The challenges you may face should not be viewed as obstacles but as opportunities to showcase your capabilities.”
