Minister of Communications Visits SecureID Plant, Commends Deepening of Smartcard, Personalization Technology

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has successfully made a famous visit to SecureID Limited plant, the first certified smartcard manufacturing plant in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.

In a statement, it was noted that the visit, which took place on Tuesday November 21, 2023, marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards digital transformation and enhanced security measures in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

The statement explained that the primary objective of the minister’s visit was to acquaint himself with the world-class capabilities of SecureID Limited, a company certified by Visa International, Mastercard Incorporated, Verve, GSMA, GH-Link, 9001/2015, Card Quality Management (CQM), possesses exceptional expertise, and utilizes state-of-the-art machinery for smartcard manufacturing and personalization in Nigeria and across 21 countries in Africa.

The statement remarked that it served as an opportunity for the company to engage with the new administration towards a digitization journey.

According to him, “I am deeply impressed by the cutting-edge technology and dedication to excellence displayed by SecureID Limited. Tijani engaged in a comprehensive tour of the facility, which offered him first hand insight into the company’s manufacturing plant and adherence to international quality standards.

The tour provided the minister with a glimpse into the extensive capabilities of SecureID Limited in manufacturing high-quality, secure smartcards and digital solutions.

Also commenting on the visit, Managing Director, SecureID Limited, Mrs. Kojo Akinkugbe OON, expressed optimism for the company’s future collaboration with the government and its positive implications.
