Atelier Zashadu, a trailblazing leather accessories heritage brand led by Zainab Ashadu, has taken the Nigerian art and fashion scene by storm with the launch of their latest collection, “The Chrysalis Collection.”

This exclusive exhibition, held in collaboration with Temple Muse and in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Lagos Paris Accelerator, took place on November 4 in Lagos.

The Chrysalis is a stunning showcase of craftsmanship and innovation, featuring 10 main pieces designed to captivate the hearts of fashion enthusiasts and art connoisseurs alike.

Inspired by the metamorphic stages of a butterfly and signifying evolving states of consciousness in design; this collection obscured the boundary between fashion and art. Through the eternal cycle of deconstruction and rebirth, The Chrysalis reflects creations informed by adaptability, and the transformative power of change, inviting wearers to embark on a courageous, personal journey of curiosity, self-discovery, and expansion. The collection is a reminder that, like the butterfly or a Phoenix rising from the ashes, we reveal our true beauty and potential by deepening trust, surrender and resilience.

A reparative brand with sustainability at its core, Atelier Zashadu and Zashadu Foundation work to restore the ecosystem by alchemizing waste leather into collectible pieces. With an unwavering commitment to ethical practices, preserving traditional techniques from Nigeria’s cultural heritage is at the heart of its operations.

The week-long provided a unique opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in the world of Atelier Zashadu. The exquisite craftsmanship, attention to detail, and sustainable practices that underpin the brand’s identity were on full display. Fashion and art lovers from Lagos, Nigeria, turned up in large numbers to witness the unveiling of The Chrysalis Collection, celebrating the fusion of art and fashion at its finest.

The event not only showcased the brand’s dedication to sustainable practices but also featured exclusive pieces from Atelier Zashadu’s luxury collectors club launched in July 2023.
