Kano Approves N40bn for Various Projects

The Kano State Executive Council (KSEC) has approved the release of N40.353 billion for the execution of various projects across the state.

A statement that was signed by the State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Mr. Baba Halilu Dantiye, said that the council approved the amount in its 8th meeting.

Dantiye said that the council approved the release of N15.974billion to the state’s Ministry of Works and Housing for the construction of Dan Agundi Interchange Underpass and Flyover.

He added that the sum of N14.455 billion was approved for the construction of Tal’udu Interchange Clover Leaf Flyover, all in the metropolis.

He further explained that the council also approved the release of N3.360 billion to the Ministry of Works and Housing for the upward review of rates for the construction of covered sewage conduit/road along the Jakara-Kwarin Gogau River.

“The sum of N1.579 billion had been approved for the construction of Kofar Waika – Unguwar Dabai- Yan Kuje Western bypass road in Gwale Local Government Area.

“The sum of N1.350 billion had been approved for the Ministry of Works and Housing for the construction of Unguwa Uku ‘Yan Awaki-Limawa Junction Road in Tarauni Local Government Area, while N820, 262,071 was approved for the completion of Kanye-Kabo-Dugabau Road in Kabo Local Government Area.”

The information commissioner pointed out that the funds released to the Ministry of Works and Housing, included N802,695,617 for the completion and dualization of Kofar Dawanau-Dandinshe-Kwanar Madugu Road Phase ll, N458,443,067 and the re-award of contract for the construction of reinforced concrete pedestrian bridges at various locations across the state.

He also said that the council approved N420,000,000 for the rehabilitation of metropolitan street lights and traffic lights.
