HR Professionals Urged to Imbibe Competence

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Dangote Cement Plc, Ahmed Ladan Gobir, has urged the newly inducted human resources professionals to imbibe the spirit of competence and excellence in the discharge of their duties.

Gobir, who disclosed this in Lagos during Chartered Institute of Personnel Managers (CIPM) 51st induction ceremony with the theme: ‘Now that You are Chartered: Building Professional Competencies for Excellence and Impact’ said becoming a chartered professional is a significant achievement that highlights the highest level of expertise within a particular field.

He also stated that being chartered is just the beginning of a journey towards building professional competencies for excellence and impact.

He further explained that to excel as a chartered professional, it is important to constantly improve and develop the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to meet the expectations of clients, employers, and the community.

Earlier in his remarks, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the CIPM, Mr. Olusegun Mojeed, stated that the collaboration between the CIPM and the Lagos State is a long-standing one and commended the State, under the leadership of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for continuously paying serious attention to its human resources.

He hinted that people are the most important resource in the workplace and an investment that must be nurtured.

According to him, “This Induction Ceremony is a testimonial to our unrelenting advocacy strides for the professionalization of the HR/Admin cadre of the Public Service both at the Federal level and the various sub-nationals.”
