President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that he would always accord the highest priority to the safety of the people,
The President gave the assurance in his address to the nation to commemorate the 63rd independence anniversary on Sunday.
He said inter-service collaboration and intelligence sharing had been enhanced and Service Chiefs had been tasked with the vital responsibility of rebuilding the capacities of security services.
“We shall equip our forces with the ways and means needed to perform their urgent task on behalf of the people,” he said.
The President commended the nation’s gallant security forces for keeping the people safe and securing Nigeria’s territorial integrity, noting that many had paid the ultimate sacrifice.
