FCMS LASU 2006 Alumni Mourn Oso’s Demise

The 2006 alumni set of Lagos State University (LASU) Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FCMS) has commiserated with the  immediate family of Prof. Lai Muraina Oso, who recently died in a road crash.

The late Oso served as dean of the faculty between 2011 and 2015.

The set also commiserated with friends, vice-chancellor of LASU, the dean, academic and non-academic members of the faculty, former and current students and the entire LASU community, while describing his loss as a whole library drowned in water.

The pioneer set led by its President, Mr. Kayode Jackson in a statement, described Oso as a rare breed, astute communication scholar, teacher, and a mentor to many communication professionals.

“The set therefore joins the global communication family in mourning the popular university don who has impacted on the field of communication in the last three decades.

“He will be fondly remembered for his fatherly disposition and his liberal approach to knowledge in communication studies and in his relationship with colleagues and students.”
