Member representing Enugu North and South federal constituency in the National Assembly, Sam Atum has assured the people of his readiness to partner the federal government to complete the Amechi Awkunanaw multipurpose dam and rural water supply scheme in Enugu South.

The lawmaker said if completed, the project would help agricultural activities and complement the Enugu State Government’s efforts in providing water for its citizens.

Atu, who gave the assurance yesterday during his inauguration thanksgiving and civic reception in Enugu, said he remained committed to delivering quality representation to his people at the 10th Assembly.

According to him, “You all allowed me to serve and I will make sure that I give you a voice through quality representation. “Also top on my priority is education, entrepreneurship and job creation for the youths, as well as ICT development and healthcare delivery.”

He further noted that he would hold quarterly town hall meetings in his constituency to enable him know where the people want to go and not where he thinks they should go.

“I shall work closely with the new House Leadership to achieve this. “My colleagues in the Labour Party and I are willing to engage in a bipartisan process that will serve our people and the entire country,” the lawmaker said.

He further stated that he would work with his esteemed colleagues in the Green Chamber to sponsor quality bills and issue-based motions, noting that he knows the issues confronting his people, having toured the entire 26 wards in the constituency during the campaign.
