Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial (DOAM) Foundation recently celebrated with pupils from less privileged backgrounds to commemorate the 2023 Children’s Day activity, aimed at alleviating their worries that may arise in abuse, exploitation and discrimination.

The pupils were drawn from New Town and Ideal Primary Schools, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, for the celebration as part of efforts to support their learning opportunities and enable them to achieve more in their academic pursuits.

The Education Programme Officer, Mrs. Ruth Nwachukwu, said the programme would improve their psychosocial conditions leading to improved learning.

The foundation, since its inception, she noted, has carried out this programme to infuse an atmosphere of festivity and celebrate with children, especially those from financially challenged homes.

She added that their parents mostly comprised petty traders, cleaners, farmers, and security guards, who barely met up with their welfare and school needs, pointing out that “most of their parents are uneducated, lacking the understanding and means for such engagements with their children.”

“The programme, supported by Beloxxi Biscuits Limited, Niger Biscuit Limited, SACVIN Industrial  Limited, Fan Milk Nigeria Plc,  Viju Industries Limited, Celpas and Infinity Snacks Limited,  witnessed pupils engaging in various competitions and gifts to take home.
