The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), yesterday, grilled the immediate past Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, over alleged corrupt enrichment to the tune of N2 billion.

THISDAY gathered that the former minister, who arrived at the Abuja Zonal Command of the commission on invitation at 12p.m. was still being grilled by investigators of the commission as of the time of filing this report last night.

Though details of the allegations against the ex-minister were sketchy, a source familiar with the case said it bordered on corrupt enrichment to the tune of N2 billion.

Part of the money was allegedly diverted from the African First Ladies Peace Mission project.

Spokesman of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, could not be reached for confirmation.

It would be recalled that the former First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, had openly demanded that the former minister return a N500 million donation by the federal government to the project.

“I will like to thank the Nigerian government for their intervention. We also understood that some funds amounting to N500 million were allegedly received by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs on behalf of the Africa First Ladies Peace Mission.

“We, therefore, appeal to the minister to immediately credit the account of the Peace Mission for the purpose of accountability,” she said.

The anti-graft agency had, Thursday, quizzed the former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, over alleged diversion of N4 billion while he served as the state chief executive.

Premier League champions, Manchester City and Carabao Cup champions, Manchester United, will rekindle their derby rivalry in the FA Cup final today, and the match will be live on GOtv.

Pep Guardiola’s men are vying for a historic treble victory against their local rival could place them in a firm position to achieve their ultimate ambition. Watch the match live on Football Finals pop-up channel ( GOtv ch. 65) at 2:45pm.

City have been crowned the league champions and they defeated Real Madrid to set up a UEFA Champions League final clash against Inter Milan.

The Citizens, under Guardiola, became the first and only English team to have won a domestic treble in 2019, but European glory remains elusive for them.

However, Manchester United, being the only English team to have completed a treble, which they achieved under Sir Alex Ferguson in 1999, are keen to stop their local rival from repeating the feat.

While addressing the fans at Old Trafford last Sunday after the club’s final Premier League match of the season against Fulham, Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag thanked the fans for their support and assured them that the players will give their all to beat Manchester City.

“I want to thank you all. You played a really strong part during the season, at Old Trafford and also away. I want to thank you for the contribution, for the backing, for the support, it was great.

“But when I talk about support. there is still one game to go, and I am sure that these players will give everything to beat Manchester City next week. We count on you as well. With you on our back, I am sure we have a really good chance to take the cup back to Old Trafford,” Ten Hag assured the fans.
