Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman came off the bench to end his eight-game goal drought in all competitions as Atalanta beat Cremonese 3-1 in the Serie A yesterday. 

Dutch midfielder, Marten de Roon gave the away side the lead a minute before half-time when he expertly controlled the ball before drifting a shot into the bottom left corner.   Atalanta would take the 1-0 lead into halftime as Cremonese had no time to respond. Eleven minutes into the second half, Cremonese skipper, Daniel Ciofani equalisevia the penalty spot. In-form Danish striker Rasmus Hojland restored Atalanta’s lead in the 73rd minute after he was set up by Jeremy Boga. Super Eagles striker, Lookman who came on as a substitute for Luis Muriel at the start of the second half sealed the victory in the 93rd minute.  

 Lookman was released by Éderson and the Nigerian made no mistake to beat the goalkeeper. He has now netted 15 goals this season for Atalanta. Cyriel Dessers came on as a substitute for Marco Benassi but couldn’t influence the scoreline.  

 The win takes Atalanta level on points with fourth-placed AC Milan while Cremonese are still rooted to the bottom of the Serie A.
